Blog article:

Do you have young children and they love animals? The Royal Zoo ARTIS is the perfect place for young (and old) animal lovers.

Founded in 1838 the ARTIS Royal Zoo is the oldest zoo in the Netherlands and an oasis of relaxation because of it’s greenery and old monumental buildings. And the animals of course. It’s more than a simple zoo, you can also find an aquarium, a zoological museum, a planetarium and « Micropia » which is an exhibition about the microscopic world (this exhibit isn’t included in the ticket price though).

This amazing place is located in the east at the heart of the city center. Walk along the canals and then you will find this beautiful place. 700 animal species are living there such as lions, crocodiles, giraffes, zebras and lots of monkeys. You will also cross path with insects and butterflies which are living in a replication of their real environment with more than 200 tree and plant varieties. Animals, exotic marine life and stars are gathered in this place to make you live an amazing experience that young and old won’t forget!
